2020 has been an unusual year, and we could not put up the traditional Angel Tree and have everyone gather around to choose an Angel. We may not be doing it the same way, but we are still providing gifts for the children of incarcerated parents.
The Mission Committee did not want to ask our congregation to go out shopping during the pandemic, but we know that this is an important ministry to many in our church and it helps maintain relationships between incarcerated parents and their children.
We have contacted families and purchased gifts (online) for more than 30 children. As always each child will receive a clothing gift and a fun gift on behalf of their incarcerated parent. You can help offset the cost of 1 or more gifts by contributing money. The gifts were purchased for $25 each. Each child will receive a complete outfit and a lot of the younger ones will include a pair of jeans with both a short sleeved and a long sleeved top.
Fun gifts include dolls, balls, learning toys, toy cars, arts and craft kits, board games, jewelry, electronic games, cologne and lotion depending on the wishes of each child. As always your monetary donation is greatly appreciated!
