Worship Update

By Roberta Whitaker, Elder

Hear Christmas music everywhere? Nothing will stop our celebration of our Christ’s birth... not even COVID. It certainly will be different and much smaller, but still a celebration.

November 29th was the first Sunday of Advent. Many thanks to Joan Goodrich who has created the Advent wreath again this year. Such a beautiful work! Oh, how I wish we could have our hot chocolate and cookies, but fellowship will need to wait till next year.

Pastor Ken and Tim have worked diligently to have sermons and music ready for us and for all our on-line worshipers. We are planning to have Christmas Eve service outside on the handicap area of the parking lot by Fellowship Hall. It will be a shorter service, but beautiful with lots of sparkling lights. Some chairs will be available for those who need them. In case of inclement weather, we do have a plan B. So, bundle up and let’s have a service to remember.

Until then, come to worship in the Sanctuary on Sundays. A joy to see each other’s smiling eyes and listen to music that sounds so much better than on YouTube.

We will not be having our poinsettia remembrances either. In place of that, we are creating a Christmas memorial fund. If you would like to contribute, fill out a form and send to the church with minimum donation of $10.00 or drop it off in the offering box Sunday mornings. Forms will be available there, too. Hopefully, we can show them on the screen before the service on December 20th. Deadline to turn them in will be December 14th.

Stay safe and remember God loves us and is always with us... rain or shine!
